Sweet Sue`s in Phoenicia

Long waits to get in, even longer waits for the food - if you order the savory breakfast platters like the tables around us you will wait twice as long for your food (up to an hour). Watery coffees eventually arrive, and then after half an hour three pancakes descend with a light sprinkling of blueberries and exactly three raspberries (“$18 pancake sundae”, according to the menu).

AMAZING. Rustic but chic interior and the food was to DIE for (in the best way). We had the spinach, onion, mushroom and cheese omelette, pecan french toast and ricotta pancakes and they were all just fantastic. Totally worth it!

The pancakes are huge. I'd say get 1-2 pancakes with a side of the chorizo hash. I got the red monkeys pancakes with chocolate chips. It was really good. Make sure you have cash because they don't take cards.

Visited in December, and still think about this place all the time. One of my all time favorite breakfast places I have ever eaten. Delicious food (the pancakes and breakfast burrito were amazing!) and our waitress was so sweet. I love love love Woodstock, and this was one of the highlights of my trip here. Can't wait to come back!!

Cute breakfast place with a large variety of pancakes, my favorite being the ricotta ones. I also got an omelette with mushrooms and leeks but it was a bit on a greasy side, while home fries were slightly dry. Overall - good size portions at a reasonable price. Friendly and attentive service but a bit on a slower side. They also have outside seating, which is a nice bonus.

Friendly staff was my best experience. I ordered the blue monkey. The flavor was good but it was not cooked about half way through still doughy. The bottom pancake was almost flat. The top not much thicker. I did see some nice examples of wonderful fluffy pancakes leave the kitchen although I did not have the experience I was looking for I will give this place a Second chance. Hopefully I will be able to add more stars in the future.

Delicious in both service and food!Wow! This place came highly recommended and did not disappoint! What an awesome little place with great service and quality food. The art on the walls and menus is a warm welcome and promises enjoyment of what's to come. We ordered basically everything on the menu, had people with dietary restrictions, and with a large group of coffee and tea drinks, so it's safe to say we aren't the easiest customers! However the staff handled us with kindness and made us feel like we were lifelong members of this quant community. This place is a can't miss! So definitely make sure you budget enough time in your visit to stop for some yummy pancakes!

I certainly loved the dishes and service, awesome location close to where I live. The cashiers are always very welcoming. I highly recommend this place.

The pancakes are worth the 1 hour drive...their coffee isn't bad either, pretty strong and flavorful. The bread is great too. Go and taste for yourself, everyone is so friendly and polite. You will not regret it!

Wonderful lunch such a sweet place

This restaurant is a gem in the heart of Phoenicia. Went there on sunday for breakfast. Receptionist welcome us with great smile ask us where we want to sit inside or outside, we opted out to stay inside. Restaurant in side very clean and nice decorated. They have nice spacious table and bar counter also. They have lot of breakfast choices to choose from, We ordered mexican omelette wit fresh squeezed juice and coffee. Food was very tasty , its mouth watering experience , it comes with delicious home made potatoes and whole wheat bread.All the staff is very nice and smiling, keep checking on us , if need something else and free coffee refill. Restroom als very nice and clean. Lot of spacious seats inside and outdoor. A must visit restaurant.

The BEST pancakes we've ever eaten. Super friendly staff and really nice people. The food is pricey but we'll worth it once you have a taste. I got the buckwheat pancake (1) and my son got blueberry buttermilk pancakes (3). The day before we got the Eggs Your Way breakfast which was also delicious. The coffee isn't great but the hand squeezed OJ is excellent.

This place has had a die hard fan base for decades for a reason. This place is known for it's pancakes but simply calling it a pancake house doesn't do it justice. Everything I get here is simply amazing, from the pancakes to the soups to the salads to the fresh ground organic coffee. The modern yet cozy interior makes this place a delight to visit every time we're around.

Fantastic place. Stayed in the area for a few days and went here every day. Coffee is great, and ALWAYS topped off. Perfectly toes the line between comfort food and special touches. Everything is great but make sure you try the pancakes and hashbrowns.

Known for their dozen varieties of pancakes, we tried egg dishes. Asparagus omelet and the chorizo egg dishes were both very good. First breakfast I've had where the toast was the star, most amazing toast I've ever had.

Smack dab in the middle of town is this little place. Great pancakes and unique omelettes along with outdoor seating make this a great first choice for breakfast, and a solid alternative if your other choice (wink wink nudge nudge) has a line out the door. They're 5 minutes apart from each other

They don't make pancakes. They make pan cakes. Literal cakes made in a pan. They are Hughes and delicious and give you the itis. Just make sure to bring cash as they don't accept cards.

Sweet Sue's is about the pancakes. I usually get the buttermilk ones but they have pancake variations to satisfy everyone. The pancakes fill your plate and are delicious and fluffy. I also got an egg and sausage patties as sides. Everything was cooked to perfection.

Suggest the pancakes! Had pumpkin with a lighter apple sauce like syrup. Absolutely wonderful! Coffee has a good kick and it’s great to sit outside and watch the small town. Also the omelette with onions, orange peppers and corn was great.

The town of Phoenicia is a hidden gem. Sweet Sue's is known for it's pancakes and they're are plentiful (try the cornmeal type) so don't get the full order unless you're very hungry. Service is also on point and friendly!

I constantly come getting some food here. I enjoyed the speedy customer service and well cooked food. I recommend this place.

Waited an hour for my meal. No excuses to be treated like that. Move on to another place.

Visiting the area from NYC for some hiking and can honestly say I've never had a breakfast this good in a very long time. Everything homemade, generous portions, and great service. The house sausage and chorizo hash are amazing. Going back for mothers day!

Some of the best pancakes you will have in the Catskills. The pancakes are amazingly huge but everything else I've tried has been a miss. They had a breakfast burrito that was on special and it was really good.

I went there yesterday with a friend on the way to Belleayre mountain for snowboarding and it was delicious. The waitress was very nice as well.I have the berry pancakes and my friend had the ricotta pancakes. VERY good!The portions are huge! I just had the rest this morning for breakfast... about a minute or so in the microwave.

Surely a place worth stopping over, the food is great and fresh, the costs are fair and it is constantly clean there. Highly recommended.
